How many emails a day do you get? Twenty, thirty, fifty, a hundred? Maybe even more than that! The dreaded email inbox cleanup can be cathartic, but it can also be daunting– especially when you’re traveling. One of the best life hacks I’ve found was to answer emails while on a plane! The peace and quiet of a flight– not to mention the lack of distraction– is a great place to clear out your inbox!
Normally, the internet on an airplane is outrageously overpriced and terribly spotty. It’s usually not worth it– I mean, you can’t even stream Netflix! What’s the point!?
When you have a lot of work to do, but limited internet, Google Chrome has an extension that will save your life! I’ve used this many times, it’s saved me time and headache!
First, you’ll need to open up your Chrome browser. If you’re not using Chrome as your browser, this won’t work for you– and anyway, what else are you using? If you use Internet Explorer, call me– we need to talk!
Once you’ve got Chrome open, click the horizontal lines in the upper right hand corner. This is called a hamburger. Once you’ve opened this up, click “Settings” and then on the left, “Extensions.” Scroll all the way to the bottom, and click “Get More Extensions.” Use the search box to enter “gmail offline” and then once you’ve found it, click the button that says “Add To Chrome.” I’ve already got it installed, but you’ll see the button in the top right hand corner of the popup. The next time you’re connected to the internet, the emails you’ve previously “sent” while you were offline will officially send.
That’s it! It’s pretty easy! Once you’re on the plane, grab a cold soda, sit back, relax, and answer some emails! This Google Chrome Extension makes it’s really easy to take your emails with you– whether you have internet or not.
