Google Upgrades Mobile Adwords!

Is there a certain time of day that people are more likely to call your business? If you owned a snow removal business… might people call you late at night during a snowstorm? With Google’s recent upgrades to their Adwords program, you now have increased targeting in Google’s mobile advertisements.

On Wednesday, Google improved their Adwords program to allow increased targeting on Mobile devices including device, time of day, and geographic proximity. This means that you could show mobile ads to people specifically at 4:30pm on iPhones within five miles of your restaurant for your Apple Trivia Night Happy Hour… How cool would that be?

PRO TIP: Add Your Contact Info to Your Header!

This week’s pro tip may seem obvious, but we see a lot of businesses making this common mistake.

If the goal of your website is to have people call you or come to your location, make sure you have your phone number and address visible in the header of your website.

On your mobile website, make sure that your phone number is a touchable link that opens in your users’ smartphones. To do this, insert a link like you normally would for a a website, but make the link url tel: <number>

That way, I can call you easily and hire you right away!
