Doctor kiosks, outer space, and your domain name… [video]

January 11, 20135 Comments

Oh hi, and welcome to the 71st episode of Friday’s Informal Facebook Films. Did you know there are 71 characters – excluding capital letters – that can be used on a standard English keyboard?

IN THE NEWS:  Go to the Doctor… via a Kiosk?

Does it seem like everyone sick these days? What if you could go see a doctor… without actually going to see the doctor? Well, that capability might be coming soon to a kiosk beat you!

It’s called “HealthSpot,” and the company’s objective is to make trips to the doctor in order to diagnose simple ailments a thing of the past.  Once implemented over the next year in places like pharmacies, grocery stores and college campuses, the digital kiosks will allow patients to speak with a board-certified medical doctor to receive medical advice or prescription.

Would you trust this method with your health?  Let us know!

Ramblin Jackson’s Really Remarkable Report: Axe Body Spray Sends People To Space

Have you ever want to go into outer space? Well Axe body spray is going to send 22 people space as part of a contest. And they can take their stink with them…

What do Buzz Aldrin, The Caribbean and Axe Body Spray have in common?  No, it’s not a tropical party for former astronauts, it’s a contest to send people to the edge of space!  According to Aldrin, “space travel for everyone is the next frontier in the human experience.”

Contest winners will fly – one at a time – aboard reusable space planes designed to fly two people – pilot and passenger – to an altitude of 62 miles during suborbital flights!  The rocket plane is built to take off and land horizontally on a runway.

Do you have “the right stuff” to win?  Well, the contest is open to men and women in more than 60 countries who sign up on the Axe Apollo Space Academy website (AXEApollo.com) and write about why they should be chosen to fly in space.  Other visitors to the site will vote on the entries. The deadline to enter is Feb. 3.

PRO TIP: Renew Your Domain Name before it Expires!

Sadly, a friend of ours let their domain name expire. They couldn’t find their password… and this happened while they were on vacation, and they figured they’d deal with it when they got back. Unfortunately, by then, it was too late — and someone had purchased their domain name — which means that all of their business cards, signage, and print material now needs to be changed, and more importantly, they’ve significantly lost a lot of their SEO.

Don’t let this happen!

  • Set your domain name registration to auto-renew,
  • Make sure your contact + credit card info is up-to-date
  • Add a reminder in your calendar to check on it
  • Hire Ramblin Jackson early + often

Great job Jack! You are a true talent!

  2. Jeffrey says:

I’m just upset that you filmed this right outside my office but you did not say hello! What’s up with that Jack?

I love the idea of the space flights for regular people. Well…..until one of those buggers explodes upon re-entry. That’ll put things on ice for sure.

    Have a nice day!

FYI, I couldn’t get your episode to load in Chrome. Don’t know if this was an anomaly, because it usually loads. But as a loyal fan, someone who has watched every episode, which probably says something about me, I persevered and fired up Firefox, which gave me my weekly fix of RJ.

    • Jack says:

Michael, I am honored that you would take the time to open a new browser. I would imagine that it was a local cache or bad browser behavior issue. No matter how good the browser is, they get polluted after being open a while. Thanks for watching and for commenting!
